The total cost of attendance includes a combination of tuition, fees, books, room and board, and personal expenses.

Tuition
Tuition charges are determined by the total number of credits taken per year.
Activity Fee
All students are charged an activity fee to help cover the costs of student events and activities, and to help student organizations.
Computer Access Fee
Health Service Fee
Charged to all full-time students, this fee covers use of the campus health service clinic.
*Health Insurance
The Aetna insurance and SHS contract are for the entire contract policy (12 month) year: August 17 to August 16, although charges are applied per semester to match financial aid awards. A change in status such as (but not limited to) full time to part/half time or a leave will not release students from spring charges. Students covered by comparable medical insurance of their own may elect to waive this fee. Waiver forms can be found on the Student Health Services site.
*Note to PhD Applicants: PhD applicants must apply through the Columbia University Graduate School of Arts & Sciences and are subject its deadline schedules.

Billing & Payment Options
