Martina Pavlicova, PhD

Dr. Martina Pavlicova is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Biostatistics (in Psychiatry) at the Mailman School of Public Health. Dr. Pavlicova graduated with PhD from the Statistics Department at the Ohio State University with a primary focus on spatial statistics and statistical issues when analyzing functional magnetic resonance imaging Currently, Dr. Pavlicova is primary biostatistican on several clinical trials in psychiatry investigating therapies for posttraumatic stress disorder or new treatments for addiction. She focuses on longitudinal mixed effect analyses with various link function accommodating different distributions of outcome variables, investigates multiple comparison procedures and deals with many other statistical issues arising in randomized clinical trial environment. Dr. Pavlicova also specializes in teaching introduction to biostatistics to large bodies of student. Recently, Dr. Pavlicova was awarded an inaugural Early Career Teaching Award. This is Dr. Pavlicova's third teaching honor as she was also nominated as a 2010 Glenda Garvey Teaching Fellow and is part of the inaugural class of the Mailman School Teachnology Fellows.
