Overview
Anhthu Hoang is an attorney and the acting director of external civil rights for a federal environmental agency. Anhthu has worked with programs federal programs to integrate environmental justice (EJ) into agency core functions as well as with state and municipal governments to promote and share methods and tools to improve environmental and health protection for vulnerable populations. Prior to joining EPA, Anhthu worked with EJ organizations in NYC and the San Francisco Bay Area to advocate forĀ environmental health and justice for communities of low-income and color. Before launching her legal career, Anhthu was an ecologist studying the impacts of stress and environmental toxins on the evolution and resilience of animal populations. In addition to her law degree, Anhthu holds a Ph.D. in ecology and evolutionary biology.
