Office of Inclusive Excellence
The Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health is dedicated to fostering an inclusive and equitable environment in which diverse voices and identities are nurtured, valued, and respected. Through our collective and united efforts, our community strives to meet our shared mission to build a healthy and just world.
The Office of Inclusive Excellence (OIE) is dedicated to fostering an inclusive and equitable teaching, learning, and working community of faculty, students, and staff committed to scholarship and practices that achieve health and health equity. We believe that when diverse voices and identities are nurtured, valued, and respected—and everyone has an opportunity to succeed—we can best achieve our shared mission to build a healthy and just world.
What We Do
The School's Inclusive Excellence work, represented across departments, advances public health education, mentorship, dialogue, and community partnerships through groundbreaking research, teaching, and measurable best practices. OIE serves to unify, cultivate, coordinate, amplify, and evaluate this work.
OIE condemns all forms of hate and bigotry. We are here to promote an environment where everyone—students, staff, faculty, alumni, and community partners—can thrive.
