Commencement is a call for celebration, marking the culmination of our graduates' hard work and dedication. To honor their achievements, graduates are invited to participate in two milestone events: Columbia Mailman School of Public Health's Class Day and University Commencement.

Columbia Mailman School of Public Health Class Day

Class Day is a memorable event honoring Columbia Mailman graduates. It serves as the Mailman School of Public Health's dedicated graduation celebration. During the ceremony, each degree candidate’s name is announced as they take the stage to shake hands with the Dean, commemorating their achievements. All master's and doctoral students graduating in October, February, and May are warmly invited to participate in the 2025 Columbia Mailman Class Day Ceremony.

University Commencement

Location: Morningside
University Commencement, held on the South Lawn of the Morningside Campus, is a ceremony that includes all of Columbia's schools, colleges, and affiliate institutions. Degrees are symbolically conferred en masse upon candidates by the President of the University. Details about University Commencement will be shared closer to the event.
