Vergil
Columbia University is upgrading its Student Information System by transitioning from the current Student Services Online (SSOL) platform to Vergil, a next-generation and innovative system. This phased implementation ensures a smooth transition while minimizing disruptions.
During this period certain features and services may still require access through SSOL but Vergil is now the primary hub for accessing academic records and managing personal information including registration and the course search directory. This marks an exciting step forward in providing a more robust and efficient platform for our community. Key updates are listed below. For a more detailed list of available and upcoming features refer to: Features & Release Notes. Some resources may continue to reference SSOL, however a majority of those tools are accessible from the Vergil platform.
What to Expect During the Transition
As of Spring 2025, Vergil will allow students to:
• Access the Vergil Course Search (sometimes referred to as the Course Directory)
• Access their student records including personal and academic information, addresses, and emergency contacts
• Access other tools related registration and registration appointment times, reviewing holds, viewing their bill and student account, applying for graduation, and more
A variety of resources to help students have been made available by offices around the university. The following links will assist students in learning how to access helpful content:
